Ambient Filters:

These photo series are presented "al natural" employing natural filters that exist at all places, in all situations. These ambient filters add visually effective textures, and most importantly, another layer of meaning that reflects the environment. Chance enters because ambient conditions are encountered, not constructed. The use of chance-filters implies acceptance of the surroundings, it does not imply “random photography”, but is a conscious use of what characterises the moment. Transitions are a frequent reality and necessity. The filters are negative as a kind of barrier to the exterior world and positive because they act as a kind of protection and acceptance and give me the opportunity to interact with different places and to transform myself. The series consist of different numbers of photographies from short, unimportant travels that show movement and progression. They often become the raw material for my experimental video work.
